EVENT: Chair Yoga @ Living Peace Yoga

Using props in a yoga class can be beneficial for all students. Chairs are particularly useful for those with injuries and also for mature students with mobility or balance issues who may experience limited range of movement. Chairs can also be extremely useful for able bodied students to embrace a different approach to their practice and to deepen their experience of asana. Chair Yoga utilises the same principles as a mat practice but from the support of a chair.

This workshop would be useful for those returning to their practice after injury or illness, anyone with mobility, balance or movement limitations, those who are seeking a gentler practice or students who are curious to expand their experience of asana from a chair.

This workshop will include:
* How and when to safely use a chair in a yoga class
* A variety of yoga poses in a chair, including:
* Simple and gentle movements for those with limited mobility
* Intermediate poses – translating asanas into a chair* Effective pranayama techniques for health and wellbeing
* Take home notes

Facilitator: Angelique Pratten is a devoted yoga teacher and yoga therapist, who completed her teacher training with Living Peace Yoga in 2016 and is now a full time teacher in various locations in the Newcastle area.
