Having practised yoga with and been inspired by beautiful Angelique for a number of years, I knew it was Angelique I would ask to create an afternoon of gentle Yoga and relaxation for fourteen family members and friends.

It was a special afternoon of togetherness energised by Angelique’s caring words, depth of knowledge and thoughtfulness. The theme of Loving Kindness underpinned our practice as Angelique guided us through appropriate gentle poses and a mindful relaxation during which Angelique chanted the theme music with her delightfully powerful voice accompanied by amazing harmonium playing.

This was quite an emotional, inspirational aspect of the afternoon which has since been reflected on by our guests. A truly memorable afternoon. Thank you Ange, you are a remarkable woman with so much loving kindness in your heart.

This year due to an injury, I came to Angelique for Yoga Therapy sessions that were specifically designed to complement and integrate with the healing and rehabilitation programs of my physiotherapist and chiropractor.

From a serious leg injury limiting me physically, mentally and “confidence-ly”, the weekly Yoga Therapy one-on-one sessions gradually and safely built my movement range, my strength and confidence to such a level that surprised and delighted both my physiotherapist and chiropractor.


The weekly adjustments and modifications to my programme were tailor-made for each level of movement and strength (and confidence) that suited where I was at.

Ange has an amazing gift for channelling her meditations. She will sometimes plan different activities to incorporate in these meditations, including gentle restorative yoga techniques at the start. This has always been an amazing way to settle the mind. Ange has also educated her students in a significant amount of different breathing techniques. These are very useful with “monkey mind” when suffering a restless night sleep or stressful situations encountered in every day life.

I have had the pleasure of learning from Ange Pratten for almost five years, starting with weekly meditation classes with pranayama and regular restorative yoga retreats since the beginning of 2013. This year in particular, I have also participated in weekly restorative yoga and flow classes at both Ange’s house and a yoga studio where Ange teaches.

Ange has inspired me to follow a daily yoga practice at home which I have been doing since 2013. I have certainly noticed a positive change in my own well-being, my body and mind since the start of attending meditation and yoga classes.

I moved to Newcastle over three years ago – not in a particular good space due to a very long term marriage breakdown. Being new to the practice I found that after attending meditation and an informal yoga day with Angelique I was hooked!

Ange has a way of making you feel so comfortable and most importantly positive, not only about yourself but the world around you. I would leave her classes floating on air and with the biggest smile on my face. I still do and my head space is now one of love, forgiveness and zest for life... all of which I credit Ange with.

I have been attending yoga with Ange for three years and while I have gone to various other yoga centres throughout Newcastle it is with Ange that I find total peace and enjoyment in my practice.

Quite simply she is a beautiful soul that has not only taught me mindfulness but also how to be at peace with myself and others.
